Relax, recharge and reset in tranquility
Nestled in a deep valley about 2,5 hours from Johannesburg, scoured by the Groot Marico river, lies RiverStill Guest Farm, a peculiar place where time moves at a more leisurely pace and where the raw energy of stones and quietness take hold of you and where magic still happens.
Cottages
Surrounded by enchanted trees and birds, each cottage has its privacy and own character. All cottages are equipped with modern amenities to make your self-catering stay relaxing and pleasant.
Activities at RiverStill
Spend your day lazing around on the stoep of your cottage, cool off in the pristine Marico river water or take a 7km hike up the Stone Clad Mountain.
About Groot Marico
Take a leisurely drive on one of the scenic routes in the area and visit the Marico Eye - the source of the river that flows through the farm. The Marico Biosphere Reserve was officially declaired by UNESCO in July 2018. We are passionate about protecting our river which is the last clean river in the whole of the Limbopo basin. We are privileged to drink the water from the river.
Events @ 'The Well'
The Well is a space where we host the annual Herman Charles Bosman Festival as well as wellness programmes, small conferences, workshops, weddings, music and cultural events. Contact us if you would like to host an event.
What our guests have to say
A true, real, untainted piece of South African nature.
I love the easy access to the river and the beautiful hiking trails. Safe, unique and friendly atmosphere where the hosts and guests share a love for nature. I love the presence of the animal life – from the sounds and sights of the birds, to the fish and the dragonflies by the river.
Alla Nemirovsky, Randburg
A place of simple serenity
Relaxing on the riverbank, swimming in the river, canoeing, or hiking alongside the river. RiverStill offers a variety of activities and in-activities, but for me, the river is everything.
